School Vision and Mission
Our mission is to prepare students to be successful college graduates who contribute to society as productive members of the community.
School Profile
Parkview School serves students in Head Start, Preschool, and Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. As one of the eight schools in the Mountain View School District. Parkview maintains a commitment to providing a strong instructional program.
Teachers, staff, and administrators adhere to the principle of putting students first and tailor the educational programs and climate to meet the needs of an ever-changing school population.
All school personnel work hard to promote parental involvement in the educational process, offering comprehensive programs and guides for the benefit of both the students and the parents.
Parkview School Programs & Practices
-
Our school takes much pride in being an AVID school. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. It is a college-readiness program designed to support students and prepare them for future success.
-
Parkview School is home to our amazing Dual Language Immersion Program in Spanish, where students learn to master the State content areas in two languages.
-
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention Supports. It is a means to intentionally teach students school-wide and classroom expectations so that all students can learn how to:
- Identify and reflect on their own behaviors and emotions
- Communicate their needs effectively and respectfully with adults and each other
- Problem solve effectively
Parkview School kicks off each school year with a school-wide PBIS assembly to celebrate our school community. During the first few days of every school year, all students participate in different rotations where they visit different areas of the school to learn about Parkview’s school-wide behavior expectations to SOAR.
SOAR stands for Show Responsibility, Offer Your Best, Act Safely, Respect Self and Others. Our Eagles are rewarded on a daily basis with Eagle Tickets, which they earn when they are “caught” SOARing. Parkview also provides weekly opportunities for our Eagles to visit our Eagle Store, where they can redeem their Eagle Tickets for special prizes.
Last but definitely not least, we celebrate PBIS at Parkview with SOAR Fun Fridays once a month. On these special days, teachers and staff provide our Eagles with fun and exciting activities and projects for our school to celebrate positive behavior.

Capturing Kids' Hearts is a philosophy and program focused on building strong, positive relationships between school staff and the community they serve to foster a supportive and engaging learning environment.
At Parkview School, every classroom works collaboratively to create a Social Contract. This process encourages every student to take an active role in providing their classroom peers and teacher with input and perspective as each classroom develops its social and behavioral expectations.
This Social Contract is revisited throughout the school year and adjusted to better meet the needs of all of our students and our school.
